MELANIE MOORE
COMPANY APPRENTICE
Melanie Moore, originally from Fork Union, Virginia, began dance as a student at Richmond Ballet where she was part of the touring Ensemble. She attended summer intensives at Nutmeg, Ballet West and Ballet Arizona. After high school Melanie attended the University of Arizona and was a Trainee with Ballet Tucson. After three seasons as a trainee, Melanie joined the company as an Apprentice performing ballets such as Concerto Barocco, Swan Lake, Giselle, Jekyll and Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, Saddle Up and many other contemporary works. More recently, Melanie spent seasons with both the Charlottesville Ballet and Georgia Ballet. Some of her favorite roles include Shepherdess in Charlottesville Ballet’s The Nutcracker, Arabian and Harlequin Doll in Georgia Ballet’s Nutcracker, as well as original contemporary works choreographed by fellow dancers in the community.
Now branching out into the world of modern and contemporary styles of dance, Melanie has performed in the Atlanta community with a variety of groups, including events at Inman Park Fest and The Reconstruct Exhibition. Melanie is very excited to be joining the Atlanta Contemporary Company for the 2024-2025 season!
